Herb farm

Located in the South West of France, nestled in the heart of the Lot et Garonne, covering an area of almost 7 hectares, is the Château de Grenier, our family home and park, containing our working Pine woodland and our herb gardens.

In our park you will find over 2,000 Pines, as well as Cedars, Oaks, Acacias and many other tree species and of course no French herb garden would be complete without Lavender, Rosemary, Laurel and Thyme, to name but a few.

What makes Pine so special is that virtually every part of the Pine tree can be eaten, drunk, or used for medicinal purposes.
In addition to the well-known Pine essential oils, soaps, scented candles and herbal teas from Pine needles & nuts, etc., here at Château de Grenier we also collect Pine pollen and we are one of the first & few producers in France to do so.
Pine pollen has surprising properties and exceptional benefits. Pine pollen is a golden yellow powder that we harvest in late Spring, manually by hand, to maintain the highest quality possible, in a season of just 3 weeks.

A little about Pine pollen

Pine pollen is now recognised as a “Super Food” with a powerful source of phytoandrogens (natural plant testosterone), also rich in other phytonutrients (vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fatty acids and amino acids).
As a nutrient-dense food with brassinosteroids (plant hormones) that include testosterone and androstenedione, Pine pollen can offer a natural alternative to prescription drugs and synthetic hormone therapy.
Because androgens (growth and reproduction hormones) in our bodies decline with age, a good source of phytoandrogens is essential for longevity and health; rebuilding our tissues is an anabolic activity, our bodies need things like Pine pollen to help repair and regenerate our bones, muscles, organs, brain and cardiovascular system.
If that wasn’t enough for you, Pine pollen also contains phenylalanine (an amino acid) and natural DHEA (a hormone produced by the body’s adrenal glands), which help fight the effects of stress and improves mood.

Health Benefits of Pine Pollen

Pine Pollen has been recognized as a powerfully functional superfood with a wide range of health benefits and uses, including supporting, stimulating and/or promoting…

  • Healthy androgen levels and balanced estrogen levels.
  • Sex drive, libido and fertility.
  • Prostate health.
  • Muscle growth (in both men and women).
  • Weight management.
  • Anti-fatigue and cardiovascular health (helps lower LDL and vLDL cholesterol.
  • Skin elasticity and overall skin health.
  • Immune system.
  • Anti-inflammatory effects with benefits for chronic pain.
  • Cognitive functions.
  • Detoxify the body and boost liver and gallbladder health.

Here at Château de Grenier, we use the Pine pollen we collect to make Pine pollen tincture – a medicinal solution with a small volume, but a very big effect.
With the help of alcohol, the valuable components and properties of Pine pollen are extracted, released and retained by the alcohol.
Making Tincture the purest form and a much more concentrated product.

How to use

Tinctures are an appropriate preventative measure. They are used most often in the amount of 30-40 drops per day. If you are worried about using the tincture because of the alcohol content, you can drop it in a glass of water or tea to dilute. Here’s a little trick. After depositing the tincture in tea at 90°C, the alcohol evaporates.

Here at Château de Grenier, we believe that the garden should
to be a place where you feel good. But not only for people, but also for plants and animals alike. That’s why all of our trees and herbs are grown & harvested naturally without the use of machinery, chemicals and pesticides.
